The Crete Community Resource Center announced on April 1 that it will provide mental health services and wellness resources for residents of all ages at two upcoming events.

These services will be available on Thursday, April 2 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Crete-Monee High School, located at 1515 W. Exchange St., with access through the “Bridges” Door B-1 on the east side of the building. A second event is scheduled for Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crete Public Library’s second floor community room, located at 1177 Main St.

Organizers say these events are open to all residents who may need support or information regarding mental health and wellness. The initiative aims to make resources more accessible within the community and encourage individuals of any age group to seek help if needed.

Mental health professionals and volunteers are expected to be present during both sessions, offering guidance and answering questions about available support systems in the area.

A statement from organizers reads: “It’s okay to ask for help.” This message underscores their goal of reducing stigma around seeking assistance for mental well-being.

The upcoming events reflect ongoing efforts by local organizations to address growing concerns about mental health in communities.
