REGULAR MEETING of the City Council of the City of Lockport, Illinois was held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in the Lockport Township Community Room, located at 1463 Farrell Road, Lockport, IL. Mayor, Steve Streit called the Meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

LIAISON REPORT

1. King – Events

a. 2026 Lockport Heroes Military Banner Program – Applications will be accepted after January 11. For more details, information is available on the City’s Website.

2. Pugh – Police Department

a. This Friday, January 9, Sergeant Brian Phelan will retire from the Lockport Police Department after 25 years of dedicated service to the community. Sgt Phelan began his career with the department on January 2, 2001. Throughout his career, he served with distinction as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Patrol Sergeant and as a former D.A.R.E. instructor to many Lockport students. Sgt. Phelan also founded our award winning Honor Guard, which proudly represented the department at numerous events over the past twenty years. We thank Sergeant Phelan for his unwavering dedication and service to the citizens of Lockport and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.

3. Public Works

a. Special Bagged Curbside Leaf Pickup – one-time free bag distribution and curbside collection for all City of Lockport residents January 12-17 at City Hall or the Public Works facility

4. Bartelsen – Beautification

a. February 4 Awards Ceremony
