Homeowners in Bolingbrook paid property taxes at a rate of 2.5% of their home values in the fourth quarter of 2025, which is more than 2.8 times higher than the national average, according to BlockShopper.com.

Data from the 193 residential properties sold in Bolingbrook during that period shows a median sales price of $335,000. The city’s median tax bill was $8,250 in 2025, amounting to 2.5% of the median taxable property value.

The average effective property tax rate in the United States was 0.888% in 2024.

Within Will County, Wilton, Park Forest and University Park accounted for the three highest property tax rates.
