The City of Joliet Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec. 23.
The @FTC is warning of COVID-19 vaccine scammers. No legitimate official will call/email you asking for personal info in exchange for being on a vaccine list. The FTC has more info on coronavirus scam warnings and how to report them at http://ftc.gov/coronavirus/
If you get a call, text, email — or even someone knocking on your door — claiming they can get you early access to the vaccine, STOP! That’s a scam. Don’t pay for a promise of vaccine access or share personal information. More: https://go.usa.gov/xAb5u #COVID19vaccine
