The City of Joliet Police Department issued the following announcement on July 4.
On vacation? Out of town often? Place a hold on mail when gone for extended time or have a trusted friend/neighbor pick it up. Overflowing mailboxs tell criminals they’ve found an easy target; empty house or no one home. Help do your part to prevent burglaries.
