The City of Joliet Finance Committee met July 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

1. Roll Call

PRESENT: Councilman Michael F. Turk, Councilman Pat Mudron,

Councilwoman Sherri Reardon.

ABSENT: None.

ALSO PRESENT: Deputy City Manager/Economic Development Director Steve Jones, Director of Finance James Ghedotte, Director of Human Resources Kathy Franson, Public Assets Supervisor Mike Eulitz, Fleet Services Director David Druzik, Budget Officer Kenneth R. Mihelich, Economic Development Specialist Derek Conley, Joliet Public Library Executive Director Megan Millen, Joliet Public Library Deputy Director Catherine Y. Adamowski, Joliet Public Library Board Member Nancy K. Henricksen, Joliet Public Library Board Member Lynn Poper Samalea Joliet Public Library Communications Coordinator Mallory Hewlett, Partner of Engberg Anderson Architects Joseph Huberty, and Principal of Engberg Anderson Architects Shaun Kelly

2. Approval of Minutes – Regular Meeting – June 18, 2019

Motion to approve Minutes of the June 18, 2019 Finance Committee Meeting was made by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon.

Motion seconded by Councilman Pat Mudron. Motion carried by the following vote:

AYES: Councilman Michael F. Turk, Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilwoman Sherri Reardon.

NAYS: None.

3. Citizens to be Heard on Agenda Items

None.

4. Project Burnham, a Comprehensive Plan to Remodel the Library’s Downtown Building at 150 N. Ottawa Street

Joliet Public Library Executive Director Megan Millen, Partner of Engberg Anderson Architects Joseph Hubertyand Principal of Engberg Anderson Architects Shaun Kelly presented Project Burnham. Discussion held regarding Project Burnham.

5. Authorization to Approve the Proposed Renewal of Property and Casualty Coverages

Director of Human Resources Kathy Franson explained the Proposed Renewal of Property and Casualty Coverages. Discussion held regarding the Proposed Renewal of Property and Casualty Coverages.

6. Discussion of 2020 IMRF Contribution Rate

Finance Director James Ghedotte explained the 2020 IMRF Contribution Rate. Discussion held regarding the rate changes and presenting the Discussion of 2020 IMRF Contribution Rate before the full Council.

Motion to recommend the Discussion of 2020 IMRF Contribution Rate was made by Councilman Pat Mudron.

Motion seconded by Councilwoman Sherri Reardon. Motion carried by the following vote:

AYES: Councilman Michael F. Turk, Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilwoman Sherri Reardon.

NAYS: None

7. 2019 Baseline Vehicle Replacement

2019 Baseline Vehicle Replacement

Public Assets Supervisor Mike Eulitz and Fleet Services Director David Druzik reviewed the 2019 Baseline Vehicle Replacement details. Discussion held regarding the replacement details.

8. City of Joliet Budget Amendments as of July 9, 2019 Budget Amendments

Mr. Ghedotte reviewed the Budget Amendments as of July 9, 2019. Brief discussion held regarding the budget amendments.

9. Monthly Financial Report

Budget Officer Kenneth R. Mihelich briefly reviewed the Monthly Financial Report.

10. Personnel Summary Personnel Summary

Ms. Franson briefly reviewed the Personnel Summary.

11. Travel Expense Report Travel Expense Report

No discussion held.

12. Invoices Paid Report Invoices Paid Report

Mr. Ghedotte briefly reviewed a portion of the Invoices Paid Report.

13. Old/New Business – (not for final action or recommendation)

Councilman Michael F. Turk mentioned expense topics brought to him by the Fire Department. Brief discussion held regarding the Fire Department.
