Providence Catholic has named Lee Rucinski new head boys volleyball coach.

A 1998 graduate of Marian Catholic, Rucinski comes to Providence Catholic after spending the last six years as coach of the boys’ team at Oak Forest, where he won four conference titles and averaged 19 wins per season

“I am looking forward to getting to know the young men in the program and help them to not only reach their potential on the volleyball court but to assist them on their path to reaching their life goals,” Rucinski said in a press release. “I believe in not only coaching the athlete in the sport but more importantly mentoring and helping the young men to mature and grow to become successful in life.”

While at Oak Forest, Rucinski was also named coach of the year and coached 13 players who went on to play at the collegiate level. Rucinski has also coached the girls’ team at Tinley Park High, where his team won 190 games and two sectional titles over 10 seasons.

A graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, Rucinski currently resides in Lynwood with his wife Jessica, an assistant principal at Bremen High School.
