Analysis: Shorewood pays $2.86 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Shorewood Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.2 percent of the $789,447 the Shorewood Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.86 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Will County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Shorewood contributed $585,391 to the fund, which saw a $21,781 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $204,056, or 25.8 percent, in 2016.
