Lewis University golfers Rachel Sweeney and Braden Bentley recently earned Player of the Week honors from the Great Lakes Valley Conference, according to the school's website.
Sweeney was named the women's golfer of the week for the conference after she finished first at the Battle of the Beach meet March 10-11 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She posted a two-round score of 151 to lead the Flyers to the meet title. She shot a 78 in the opening round and a 73 in the second round.
Sweeney is a senior from Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
Also at the Battle of the Beach, Bentley finished first in the men's division to earn the GLVC men's golfer of the week award. Bentley shot a 149 over the two days. That performance keyed Lewis to win the men's team title as well at the event. He shot a 75 and 74.
Bentley is a freshman from Colorado Springs, Colorado.
