Joliet City Council amends license regulations

The Joliet City Council met March 6 to amend license regulations.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the council:

Joliet is a home-rule city with a council-manager form of government. All matters of local policy and legislation are determined by the council with the mayor presiding.

DRAFT MINUTES SUBJECT TO COUNCIL APPROVAL

PRE-COUNCIL MEETING of the Council of the City of Joliet, Illinois was held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 5:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, Joliet Municipal Building, 150 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois.

I. ROLL CALL:

PRESENT: Mayor Robert O’Dekirk, Councilwoman Brooke Hernandez Brewer, Councilwoman Bettye Gavin, Councilman John E. Gerl, Councilman Larry E. Hug, Councilman Terry Morris, Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Michael F. Turk.

II. PRESENTATIONS:

A. Ginkgo Planning and Design Chicago Street Corridor Plan

Director of Planning Michael Schwarz introduced representatives for Ginkgo Planning and Design.

Ms. Ferhat Zerin with Ginkgo discussed the redesign of Chicago Street and the plaza. She also discussed the history of Chicago Street, underutilization of Route 66 as an economic resource, and overall vision of the community inspired Chicago Street plan.

B. Azavar Government Solutions

Mr. Scott Shamberg with Azavar Government Solutions spoke regarding the proposed sales tax administration module and the benefits of being part of Azavar’s pilot program for this service.
