The registration deadline for the Plainfield Park District youth-basketball leagues is Nov. 7, according to plfdparks.org.
The leagues are: kindergarten, first-grade coed, second-grade coed, third-grade boys, fourth-grade boys, fifth- and sixth-grade boys, seventh- and eighth-grade boys, third- and fourth-grade girls, and fifth- and sixth-grade girls.
Registration costs are $115 per resident and $144 per nonresident for kindergarten through second grade, $125 and $155 for third and fourth grade, and $150 and $185 for fifth grade through eighth grade.
Players in grades 5-8 are asked to attend one of several evaluation sessions Nov. 28-Dec. 2. Players will be drafted onto teams by coaches. Teams for kindergarten through fourth grade will be assembled by criteria that include grade, carpool/friend request, roster size and school attended.
Practices will begin the week of Dec. 5 in School District 202. Games will be played Saturdays beginning Jan. 14.
