Report: Lincoln Way CHS District No. 210 receives $304.17 per student from feds.

Lincoln Way Community High School District No. 210 received $304.17 per student from the federal government in 2015, or approximately $2,167,551.05, according to data published by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).

The $2,167,551.05 equals approximately 2.3 percent of District No. 210's total budget. The state average for federal funding of public school districts is 8 percent, according to ISBE.

The Obama administration is threatening to pull federal funding of local schools that refuse to follow Washington directives. Most recently, it ordered all public schools to allow transgender students to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity.

Chicago Public Schools gets 16 percent of its funding from the federal government, or twice the state average. Chicago property taxpayers pay for only 49 percent of their school bill; District 210 pays for 86.1 percent.

District 210 spent a total of $13,225 per student in 2015.

Among Will County school districts, Lockport Township HSD 205 ($345.11 per pupil) and Beecher CUSD 200U ($1,101.24 per pupil) receive more money from the federal government than District No. 210.

Joliet Township High School District No. 204 spends the most money on public schools in Will County, at $14,944 per pupil.
